Pupils from Inzievar Primary have enjoyed a “once-in-a-lifetime” trip to London this week, including touring Parliament and meeting with their MP, thanks to generous support from Babcock.
The visit gave the pupils and their teachers a unique opportunity to learn about the workings of parliament. Beginning with a guided tour of the iconic Palace of Westminster, their experience included visits to the historic chambers of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. After their tour, Dunfermline and Dollar MP Graeme Downie, met with the bright young pupils for a question-and-answer session, where he was asked a range of questions about the role of an MP.
Babcock, who are the largest employer in the area, supported the school with a generous donation to ensure that the pupils were able to have a fantastic trip.

“It has been a real joy and pleasure to host Inzievar Primary pupils today in Parliament. They had some excellent questions and observations to share with me, and were all brilliant ambassadors for themselves and for their school.
“Their community should be very proud of these intelligent, compassionate and kind young people. They have been a group of superstars.”

“It’s an incredible opportunity for our pupils to visit London, especially to tour the Houses of Parliament and experience the history and culture of the capital firsthand.
“For many of them, this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. It brings their learning to life in a way the classroom can’t, and shows them just how big the world is — and how much they belong in it.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our local MP for his support, and to Babcock for helping make this unforgettable experience possible for our young people.”
