After years of being overlooked, the Labour government has listened – and delivered. Working alongside my colleagues Melanie Ward MP and Richard Baker MP, I have secured £40 million of long-term funding for Fife from the Pride In Places programme.
That means £4 million every year dedicated to improving our community. The crucial thing about Pride In Place funding is that it is not being given to Fife Council to decide and distribute. Ideas will come from local people and it will be local people making decisions about what this money is spent on.
This investment will make a real difference. It will:
- Support projects that create jobs and opportunities locally
- Improve community facilities, youth services and green spaces
- Help make our streets safer, cleaner, and more welcoming
- Strengthen the organisations and groups that bring our community together
But this is just the beginning.
The real question now is: how should this money be spent to make the biggest impact for you, your family, and your neighbours?
I want to hear your views. Please take a few minutes to complete my local survey and tell me your priorities
