A message from Graeme Downie MP
Our constituency is full of creativity, talent, and pride. From our history and landmarks to the people who make Dunfermline and Dollar such special places, there are so many stories to tell and I want my constituency office to reflect that.
That’s why I’m launching my Community Art Competition. To give everyone in our area the chance to share what our constituency means to them.
The theme is “What Dunfermline and Dollar Means to Me” and I would love to see how you bring that to life. Whether it’s a painting of a familiar street, a photograph of a cherished memory, a drawing of a local landmark, or even a digital design or craft piece. This competition is about celebrating our community through your eyes.
Selected entries will feature on a brand-new Community Art Wall in my office, and the top three entries will receive prizes. I will also be hosting a celebration event where the shortlisted artists will be my guests of honour.
I am really looking forward to seeing the submissions and to celebrating the creativity and spirit that make Dunfermline and Dollar such a great place to call home.

Submission Information
The competition is now open, and entries close at 9am on Friday 31 October 2025. All submissions should be wall-mountable and no larger than A3, whether framed or unframed. It should be on the theme of “What Dunfermline and Dollar Means to Me”. Please also include a short description (no more than 100 words) of how your artwork fits the theme.
To submit an entry you should send a photograph or digital file by email to DunfermlineAndDollar@parliament.uk (if your file is too large, you can use a transfer service like WeTransfer). Please make sure you include your full name and postal address with postcode as entries can only be accepted from constituents of Dunfermline and Dollar.
Once you have submitted, you will receive an automatic confirmation email. A shortlist of ten artworks will be selected, and Graeme Downie MP and an independent judging panel will choose the top three entries to receive prizes. All shortlisted artists will be invited to attend the unveiling event in early November, where the winners will be announced and the new Community Art Wall revealed.

Unveiling event: Early November, details will be shared with shortlisted artists only.
Prizes: A shortlist of ten artworks will be selected, and Graeme Downie MP and an independent judging panel will choose the top three entries to receive prizes.
After You Submit
You will receive an automatic confirmation email once we have received your entry. Please include your full name and postal address with postcode in your submission (entries can only be accepted from constituents of Dunfermline and Dollar).
Shortlisted entrants will be notified by email with instructions for drop-off and the unveiling event. If you haven’t heard back by the shortlist announcement date, unfortunately your artwork has not been selected.

1. Who can enter?

2. What kinds of art are accepted?
Painting, drawing, photography, digital art, crafts anything creative, as long as it fits the theme, is no larger than A3, and is wall mountable.
3. Can schools and groups enter?
Yes – schools, organisations, groups, and individuals are all welcome to participate.
4. What if my file is too big to email?
Please use a service like WeTransfer and send the link in your email.
5. When will winners be announced?
Shortlisted entries will be contacted by email before the unveiling event in November.
