Scottish Labour Leader, Anas Sarwar MSP, has visited villages in West Fife and seen the strength shown by different communities during the pandemic and how they are now tackling the rising cost of living.
Mr. Sarwar was shown around the area by Graeme Downie and Jackie McKenna, the Scottish Labour candidates for West Fife & Coastal Villages in the council elections on 5 May. The group visited three projects around the area:
- Blairhall Community Pantry
- Grow West Fife, Culross
- Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre
Mr. Sarwar also visited Kincardine and spoke to voters there.
Commenting after the visit, Anas Sarwar MSP, said:
“It was great to be out in beautiful Fife today with our Scottish Labour candidates, meeting community groups like Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre and Grow West Fife. Towns across Scotland are filled with potential and we need to give them the tools to succeed.”
Graeme Downie, Scottish Labour candidate for West Fife & Coastal Villages said:
“The villages in West Fife did tremendous work during the pandemic and are doing so again to mitigate some of the effects of the rise in the cost of living. I was very proud to show Anas around the area. If myself and Jackie McKenna are elected on 5 May, we will demand better and fairer funding for this area to deliver services and create opportunities.”
